Position
Overview: This is a part-time position
working with engaged couples without children, cohabitating couples
with children, and married couples with children using group methodology.
Groups
meet for approximately 3 hours for 10 weeks on designated evenings
in several program activity sites. Candidates are expected to use
proven group work methodology.
Essential
Job Functions
Works
with participants to identify and work on marriage concepts and
relationship strategies through a dynamic group process.
Observes
and assesses individual group members’ cognitive change and
corresponding behavioral changes through the group process.
Recommends
techniques and strategies to group to aide positive changes in personal
and family circumstances.
Tracks
and documents participant’s efforts to achieve goals and objectives
related to their marital goals.
Adheres
to and understands the importance of the domestic violence protocol
that’s provided by the Marriage Works program.
Administers
and reviews a domestic violence assessment with couples who participates
at facilitators class location.
Records
weekly attendance and generates summary activity reports to
Program Director.
Meets
with Program Director to develop group guidance plans.
Participates
in team meetings with Program Director and other Facilitators.
Non-essential
Job Functions
Available
to respond to individual concerns of participants arising out of
group sessions.
Requirements:
AA
(working towards or equivalent life experience), BA/BS, MA/MSW
Group Work Experience
Act 33/34 Clearances
Criminal Background Check
Valid Drivers License
Must complete 16 weeks of classroom training

Marriage
Mentors

Position
overview
This
is a voluntary ministry position working with engaged couples without
children, cohabitating couples with children, and married couples
with children using mentor/coaching model of interaction. Referred
couples will meet with mentors two times per month for six (6) months
following completion of the Marriage Works initial classroom sessions.
Essential
job Functions
Works with participants to address substantive relationship changes
as identified in the group class sessions.
Assist couples with the knowledge of relationship principles and
skills that can enhance their current marriage or relationship.
Give
couples opportunities to enhance their relationship skills related
to intimacy.
Works
with couples in developing neighborhood, community and places of
worship relationships that will support their family interactions.
Adheres
to and understands the importance of the domestic violence protocol
that’s provided by the Marriage Works program.
Administers
and reviews a domestic violence assessment with couples who are
being mentored.
Records
attendance, generates summary progress reports, and returns them
to the Program Director on a timely basis.
Meets
with program director to review couples plans for attaining/maintaining
stability, accountability, and mentoring participation.
Makes
recommendations concerning couples who want to strengthen their
relationship while in mentoring.
Refers
couples to Crisis Intervention Coaches for intervention counseling
if needed.

Available
to observe couples within a group setting or meet individually.
Requirements
Stable
couple married at least 7 years
Volunteer Ministry training and experience
Active member of a local place of worship involved in evangelism.
